After threatening to commit suicide in 2012 if his music didn’t take off, Devon Hendryx (now known as JPEGMAFIA) created The Ghost Pop Tape with a new sound that seems to reflect his new feelings towards his music. The Ghost Pop Tape shows him at his most vulnerable and depressed state while he was living in Japan. It was released with a DVD film to accompany it. However, the DVD is currently lost media. The concert was divided into parties with live performances by groups, bands and artists representing a country, which in turn represented a continent. A Bluray version with the Director's Cut was released in 2012.
