The Lost Coast of Gabon: Sea Kayaking West Africa

Bordered by the Atlantic Ocean and stretching 40 miles into the jungled interior, we kayaked and portaged more than 200 miles around the park's perimeter, seeing this wild country from a new and different perspective. Along the way we encountered river-swimming elephants, manatees, tarpon, surfing hippos, gorillas and more. By trip's end it was hard to decide which were the most beautiful, and the most difficult, parts of the expedition, but it was eye opening, for us all.

Ice Waterfalls

Catalan adventurer and elite kayaker Aniol Serrasolses shatters boundaries on his Arctic expedition to Norway when he descends a 20m-high ice waterfall - the largest ever recorded kayak drop from a glacial waterfall. He and his team have to voyage across the arctic circle to the Svalbard archipelago in Norway to search for the elusive and temporary waterfalls. Once there, they must climb the treacherous glacial cliffs and hike for kilometers over the ice shelf to access the glacial rivers which run over the frozen cliffs and fall from the huge heights into the sea.

When the rivers freeze, world class freestyle kayakers find their way to a special spot on the Chattahoochee River. Squatting in an abandoned parking lot, they spend the winter training for the next world championships on North America’s best winter whitewater.

The film honours everyday people and local activists who are fighting to defend rivers and aims to spread the word of the plight of these rivers, showing a new style of nature conservation that is fun, energetic and effective.

Africa by Kayak

In 2007, Beau attempted to paddle 4000kms from one side of Africa to the other. Starting in Mozambique, he continued along the Southern African coast, allowing five months to complete the voyage. Battling surf, deep sea swell, and too many days waiting for the wind, Beau only completed 2000kms of the original plan.

This documentary takes you through the late 70's and early 80's with Shane Turnbull during his early years with commercial rafting and into the private boating scene. In 2008 the raft racing events spawned a new rush in the whitewater world. From 2008 to 2010 rafters in the Pacific Northwest ventured beyond the guidebooks and explored uncharted territory for rafts.
