The Crystal Gazer

Rose Jorgenson, a poor tenement dweller who lives with her daughters Rose and Norma in a slum and whose husband is in prison, finds out that he is to be electrocuted. Distraught, she commits suicide. The children are adopted--Rose by the wealthy Judge Keith, who brings her up in the lap of luxury, and Norma by a poor neighbor, who raises her in the squalid tenement she was born in. After they reach adulthood Norma is hired as an assistant to the shady hypnotist Caistro, who also knows Rose and notices the strong resemblance between the two. Complications ensue.

A Gutter Magdalene

The sheriff, aware of the gambler reputation, releases her and she and Steve marry.

Suffering from severe memory loss, she seeks information about the mysterious events that led to her condition. This work of fiction was inspired from the true story of an amnesiac woman found at the bridge.

The Wooing of Princess Pat

To stave off war with a neighboring kingdom, Princess Pat of Paxitania agrees to marry Warburg's King Eric. Still very young and rebellious, the new queen finds it difficult to adjust to court life, and when she accepts an invitation to take a ride with the villainous Count Ladislaus, King Eric's patience gives out and he rebukes her severely. The banished count informs Pat's father, the Grand Duke of Paxitania, that she is cruelly abused, whereupon Pat's three brothers set out to bring her back home.

The Flower of No Man's Land

The Wise Virgin

Although Billie Farrington's aunt, Mrs. Farrington, wishes her to marry Farrington ranch foreman Bob Hanford, Billie refuses to be interested in anyone but Count Venino, a fake nobleman. Mrs. Farrington becomes seriously ill, and Billie weds Bob to please her aunt but treats him with chilly reserve. When Mrs. Farrington learns of Venino's masquerade and his half-caste birth, she gives a reception to which she invites Venino's Burmese mother. Billie runs away, is kidnapped by Venino, and then is rescued by Bob, whose rugged honesty Billie finally appreciates.

They marry, but an accident makes him remember his life as a rich man in Calcutta and completely forget the time spent with Roma. Roma follows him to Calcutta.

Deceit

Deceit (sometimes referred to as The Deceit) is a 1923 American silent black-and-white film. It is a conventional melodrama directed by Oscar Micheaux. Like many of Micheaux's films, Deceit casts clerics in a negative light. Although the film was shot in 1921, it was not released until 1923. It is not known whether the film currently survives, which suggests that it is a lost film. The 1922 film The Hypocrite was shown within Deceit as a film within a film.
