Kangxi Dynasty is a 2001 Chinese television series based on the novel Kangxi Da Di by Eryue He. The series is a prequel to the 1997 television series Yongzheng Dynasty, and was followed by Qianlong Dynasty in 2002.
Set around the founding of the PRC, the story follows CCP undercover agent Zheng Chaoyang as he battles KMT operatives. After his cover is blown at the Peiping police station, he escapes with a critical list of KMT spies. Returning to Peiping post-liberation, Chaoyang faces a new challenge—elite KMT spies led by "Phoenix," who is revealed to be his estranged brother, Zheng Chaoshan.
Su Shi was a statesman of the Song Dynasty, but perhaps best known one of the major poets of the era. He published his work under the pseudonym Dongpo Jushi (東坡居士 "Resident of Dongpo") and is therefore best known as Su Dong Po (蘇東坡). Biography is a documentary television series. It was originally a half-hour filmed series produced for CBS by David Wolper from 1961 to 1964 and hosted by Mike Wallace. The A&E Network later re-ran it and has produced new episodes since 1987. The older version featured historical figures such as Helen Keller and Mark Twain, or long-dead entertainment figures such as Will Rogers or John Barrymore. The A&E series has placed the emphasis on such people as Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley, Plácido Domingo, Freddie Mercury, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Eric Clapton, Pope John Paul II, Gene Tierney, Selena, Diego Rivera, Mao Zedong and Queen Elizabeth II, and fictional characters like The Phantom, Superman, Hamlet, Betty Boop, and Santa Claus.
